I am looking for a new companion for my mare. I currently have a Section A on loan, but she isn't coping well with the amount of grazing we have and she's at risk of laminitis and wont be muzzled or fenced separately.

We have 5 acres and the companion would be living out with my mare 24/7/365. We do have a field shelter though. The field has horsey neighbours to 2 sides of our field, so if I were to take my mare out for a ride, the companion would never truly be alone. The companion needs to not be laminitic. Preferably barefoot (my mare is).
